PASAY DECLARATION ON WOMEN, PEACE AND SECURITY

The Pasay Declaration on Women, Peace, and Security was adopted on the first day of the International Conference on Women, Peace, and Security on 28 October 2024. This Declaration reaffirms foundational commitments set forth in UN Security Council Resolution 1325 and related resolutions, calling for accelerated efforts to achieve gender equality and enhance women’s meaningful participation in conflict prevention, peacebuilding, and recovery processes. It also recognizes the interconnectedness of security, climate, and gender equality, noting that instability and conflict resulting from climate change, loss of biodiversity, environmental degradation, and natural disasters disproportionately affect women and girls.
